HOME IS WITH YOU ~ original

Photographer Robyn Pomeroy gave me permission to use her stunning photograph, of this male and female galah, to use as inspiration for this artwork. 

“Home is with you” is representative of your one true love. Finding true contentment with each other, not in a “place”. Galahs thrive in a loving monogamous relationship, where they will leave their flock and raise their young as a family. The female has the red eyes, the male the brown. The love is strong between these two, and I wanted to capture that love.

Using acrylic on canvas, on a gallery wrapped 91 x 91 cm canvas, this is a statement piece of love. A muted olive background brings a calming ambience to this piece, representing a modernised native Australia.
